It's a good idea to start getting used to the AXA combo though, since it will be largely used to gather up the power for the special moves (it's the combo that increases the "special move meter", the Swordmanship Gauge, the most).

The enemies will easily get "stunned" (they turn around, exposing their back and ceasing any reaction for quite a short while, almost waiting for your finishing move on them) after a couple of consecutive sword swings ( AA), so a total of three hits is usually enough to take them down.

The fighting commands are very simple: A to swing a hit with your sword, X for a melee punch (the latter becomes available after killing 3-4 enemies with the sword). Go upstairs and find more iron bars to open two more cells, and then proceed to the gate on the bottom floor to engage your first fight against a few guards.
Pirates of the caribbean game how to#
You'll be explained how to open these chests in the last part of the next level of the game. It's a Jackanism chest, a special chest that you can't open right now. On the left of the stairs, still on the bottom floor, you can find a greenish chest. Then go southwest to locate some stairs going up. The other buttons (to attack, guard, and so on) will become available later as the game introduces them.įrom your starting position pick up an iron bar near the cell on your right (it's marked in-game with a triangle icon, like every pick-up object) by pressing LB near it, then use this bar to force the door of the cell nearby and set your friend free. The LB button is the main "interaction button" of this game, and it's used to interact with the environment to pick up objects, open chests, open doors, and to use various tools. Hold RT while moving around to run and press B to jump. You start playing the game as Jack Sparrow. The in-game tutorials should clear most of the things up for you, but it's not a bad idea to read this part of the walkthrough to get some extra info and clarifications. This first stage is a tutorial level, and therefore I'll be more long-worded than usual. The name of the levels (and link to the collectibles-videos) are:ġ2. Info on the "Collect 100 Souls" achievement will be detailed at the bottom of the page (" # Post-Game"), since the last level is where you're going to grind it. To skip directly to the section of a specific level, type in the name of the level preceeded by a " # " (for example, " # Prison Fortress"). On a last technical note, make use of the CTRL+F function of your browser to search in this page if necessary. As for the walkthrough, there won't be spoilers about the plot, but you should expect some minor references about the characters you play as, since they are necessary to keep track of the story progression.

Their position is also shown in the videos.ĭespite the name, the game is inspired to the events narrated in the movies Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest other than At World's End expect spoilers about these two movies while playing the game. Although they are not achievement-related collectibles (not directly at least), it's useful to track their position since they are used to open the Jackanism chests and farm the 100 Souls, both achievement-related tasks. The location of the "free" Shrunken Heads (pick-up objects see General hints and tips) will also be pointed out, in bolded text. The reason for this will be explained at the beginning of the walkthrough for that level. In any case, the game is mostly linear (there are no tricky puzzles whatsoever), so don't expect the text to tell you anything special in the few levels where the way through is not obvious, the videos will also show how to proceed.Īlthough there are no missable achievements (you can replay every level from the "Extras" menu of the title screen), make sure to make a back-up save once you reach the Maelstrom (eleventh and last) level.

Of course feel free to follow the text walkthrough along with/instead of the videos if you prefer the classic walkthrough. The fights have been eliminated from the video when possible (fast-forwarded otherwise), so the view should be as "clean" as possible to show you directly what you want to see to know the location of the collectibles, in the same chronological order as you will acquire them.įor this reason, I consider watching the videos the easiest way to get through the game and acquire all the collectibles. At the beginning of every level walkthrough you will also find a link to a video that shows all the achievement-related collectibles of that level. The achievement-related collectibles will be highlighted in the walkthrough with a hyperlink to a video that shows where the specific collectible is.
